Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (RIM) will host its 9th Annual Celebrity Wheelchair Basketball Game at The Palace of Auburn Hills on Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 6:00-8:30 p.m. This unique, one-of-a-kind fundraiser supports the wheelchair sports program at RIM.

The game features Detroit’s favorite sports celebrities and radio and television personalities, who compete in wheelchairs along with RIM’s award-winning wheelchair basketball team, the Detroit Diehards.

This year’s participants include TV and film star Bruce Campbell. Campbell currently plays Sam Axe on USA network's hit series, Burn Notice and has starred in the Evil Dead movies. Campbell, is a Michigan native.

Hoping to coach his team to a victory this year is Jonas Jerebko from the Detroit Pistons. Assisting him courtside will be original Piston’s Bad Boy, John Long and NFL Hall of Famer and former Detroit Lion, Lem Barney. Also scheduled to appear are local recording artists Karen Newman and rapper Trick, Trick. FOX 2’s Deena Centofanti makes a return appearance to the court as well as WXYZ’s Erin Nicole. Also many of your favorite on-air talents from WJLB, KISS-FM, Hot 102.7, WCHB and WGPR will take to the court.

All proceeds from the Celebrity Wheelchair Basketball Game benefit RIM’s SportsAbility program which provides persons with disabilities the opportunity to compete in competitive and recreational sports.
